Arusha National Park is your perfect mix of varied ecosystems coexisting in one park coupled with the magnificent view of Mount Meru. The terrain is exciting if not incredible, with the ash cone from Mount Meru, summit and slopes, the beautiful Momela lakes, the untamed Ngurudoto crater and lust forest. You are definitely in for a treat when it comes to variety in scenery in this small but exclusively refreshing park. With flamingos cascading across the lakes, leaving a pink hue across the surfaces of the lakes. Arusha National Park simply does not receive as much credit as it should.
You are in luck if you love giraffes; Arusha National Park is home to the world’s largest giraffe population! Other herbivores include hippos, zebra, elephants, buffalo and the occasional wildebeest. Viewings of leopards and hyenas early morning or late evenings are also common.

 

Itinerary

Starting at 7:30 am in Moshi or 8:30 am in Arusha, we will begin our drive to the park (a 2-hour drive from Moshi, and 1-hour drive from Arusha town) to the National Park. This excursion will begin with a short hike with an armed ranger into the lust forest, the most intimate experience with nature. Then you will go on game drives on the open grassland to catch site of some of the remarkable habitants of the park. A trip to visit the Tululusia Waterfalls will just add to the excitement of the day trip, but it won’t end there, as the Momela lakes await you to glisten hues of blues and greens and pinks under the African Sun. This will mark the end to a fun-packed day trip and the driver will drive you back to your hotel in Moshi or Arusha.
