The Lemosho route is widely considered to be the best route on Mount Kilimanjaro, the route begins in the western side of the Mt Kilimanjaro and descends down the northern side of the Mountain. Lemosho route is preferred by many due to its remoteness, scenery, acclimatization and summit success rate. Climbers encounter less traffic until the route joins the Machame route on the 3rd day when on a 7/6 days Lemosho trek.
Mega Adventures recommends the trail for those who prefer to experience the varied scenery of Mt Kilimanjaro and those willing to pay an extra little for the high altitude drop off by a vehicle.
The Lemosho route can be tackled in as little as 6 days however 7 to 8 days is ideal for this route for better acclimatization.
After breakfast depart for Londrossi gate approximately 3 hrs drive, upon arrival your guide will work out on the climbing permit and authorities will weigh the porter’s luggage, whilst our chef prepares an early lunch for you, you’ll be able to explore this beautiful starting point. Immediately after clearing with the permits, porters weight check and lunch we will drive to the Lemosho starting trail ahead and embark into the hiking trail that winds up through the beautiful rain forest of Mount Kilimanjaro to Big tree camp. Our team will take care of the necessities and a warm dinner will served by our chef. Your guide will brief you about the day ahead before you retire to your tents for overnight.
