Visiting the once inaccessible, mammal-rich national park of Mkomazi just a mere 2-to-4-hour drive from Moshi
and Arusha respectively would be a trip not to overlook. Gift yourself with a day with the 450+ bird species and
78 mammal species that walk and glide across the African blue sky. If you are lucky, this park may gift you with
an excellent viewing of the big five, a special encounter that would truly give this untampered national park a

world, Mkomazi boasts an unmatched number of rare fauna and flora. Not only that, but Mkomazi is also the
home of some of the rarest species in Africa, the Black Rhino and Wild African dog who are protected in the
park, a sight you will surely not want to miss seeing.

Itinerary

Our journey starts at 06:00 am from either Moshi or Arusha to Mkomazi National Park with a 2-hour drive from
Moshi or a 4-hour drive from Arusha.
We will arrive in time for game drives in this intimate national park that is famous for its unique, semi-arid
conditions. Mkomazi’s pride lies in its habitants as a stronghold for some of the rarest species such as the Black
rhino, african wild dog, and rare flora and fauna. The National Park is also home to other rare species such as
Oryx, Gerenuk and Lesser Kudu.
Later in the late afternoon we will depart back to Moshi approx. 2 hour Drive.
