Mount Meru Climb

20 minutes before reaching the top of Meru. I was already very exhausted when Daniel put his arm around my shoulder, pointed at the huge mountain in front of us and said: “Now we’re almost there!” I didn’t feel like that, more like now we are going to climb all the way from Arusha up to the top. In those 20 minutes I hated the mountain, hated myself and was wondering how people can get the idea of climbing Kilimanjaro?! Until 1 m under Tanzanian flag I was sure that I will not make it. Until finally I got up, saw some group members and guides from the days before, welcoming me with “Melina! Congratulations!”, sunrise and Kilimanjaro in the background.  and being taught how to eat ugali 
